Justin R. Edgren

Justin R. Edgren is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher who received his MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and holds BA degrees in political science and music. He has more than 20 years of professional consulting and educational experience in  multimedia arts and business. Past positions include work in design consulting, project management, major market newspaper, radio and film, as well as communication plan development for individuals with traumatic brain injury. His work as an animator has appeared on Brazilian television and at corporate events in Europe. His original musical compositions for short film and sound art performance have been included in festivals in the United States, Portugal, and Austria. His research interests include storytelling techniques from oral traditions to current multimedia narrative development in the digital era, social control through mass media, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction. His recent research interests include new theoretical construct development to better describe and predict communication flow phenomena across a diversity of human social systems relative to the diffusion of ideas, social change, organizational learning, etc.
